As the largest provider of outsourced coding services with more full outsource and large scale clients than any other company in the industry, himagine can customize a solution that is customized to meet your specific needs. Our solution includes ramping up our resources to ensure coders are fully productive on day one without additional cost to you, weekend coverage, and a float pool to ensure back up coverage for our coders. Finally, we will go at financial risk for our services. If we do not meet agreed upon quality standards, we will provide a financial rebate.
THE BEST PEOPLE
Our success starts with our people. All himagine employees are full time (90%) or part time (10%), U.S. based, W-2 employees. We do not employ 1099 independent contractors. This is important because it ensures our coders are focused exclusively on serving you versus multiple hospitals at the same time. Our coding professionals are fully credentialed, with many holding more than one certification, including CCS, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-H, RHIA, and RHIT. Our coders have an average of eight years of coding experience.
RIGOROUS HIRING PROCESS
Our team of eight recruiters and three redeployment specialists place an average of 100+ new employees per month. Before hiring a coder, himagine performs extensive testing and screening to build a complete profile of the HIM professional. All coders must take a test based upon their area of expertise and meet a minimum passing score. All tests have been tested for validity and reliability. If the coder passes, they must pass an interview with one of our Talent+ executives. Approximately, only 60% of coders pass and are eligible for hire by himagine.
DEDICATED IMPLEMENTATION TEAM
We have a dedicated client implementation team led by our Chief Growth Officer. We complete over 100 implementations a year and bring tools, methodologies, and best practices to ensure success. A critical element of the implementation plan is establishing baseline operational metrics so we can help you develop a business case to prove the return on investment by working with himagine.
ACCELERATED RAMP UP
Our Talent+ organization ensures coders ramp up to target quality and productivity within 30 days. Each Talent+ executive is responsible for onboarding no more than four coders at the same time. This “hands on” approach includes training the coder prior and during system access, coding charts with the coder side by side, conducting daily concurrent audit reviews and providing near real-time education and coaching. Our Talent+ program has proven to ramp up over 94% of our coders to target quality and productivity within 30 days.
Our coders are enabled by a management team comprised of over 75 HIM Leads, Supervisors, Managers and Directors, each a credentialed HIM professional. The management team is responsible for daily oversight, coder performance (quality and productivity), coaching and development, providing detailed reporting and dashboards, as well as establishing and maintaining strong client relationships. For this engagement, you will have a dedicated manager who will be an extension of your team.
During ramp up, the Talent+ team completes daily concurrent audits until the coder can achieve 95% accuracy across 30 charts. Subsequently, the coder is audited on at least 10 charts per month. If the coder does not meet a 95% accuracy rate, they are put on a corrective action plan. Rather than use random sampling, himagine uses inferential statistical analysis and modeling to identify and audit the records that will provide the most insight and value to the coder and client. We also leverage an audit software platform to manage the workflow and analyze data (versus excel sheets).
Our Education Team is comprised of 30 resources who each hold several credentials and have over 30 years of experience. Each team member is required to take a specific number of hours of education, or complete targeted modules from our online learning platform on an annual basis. Tailored education plans are developed based on individual audit findings, trends we see across the three million charts we audit annually and the latest coding guidelines. In addition, monthly educational Webinars are held on specific topics, and coders earn CEU’s for attending.
himagine requires its staff to complete annual HIPAA training, which is also part of new hire orientation training. Any documents containing protected health information must be secured and discarded in accordance with our HIPAA policy. All himagine resources work remotely through our secure, HIPAA-compliant remote solution. In addition, himagine invested in performing a SOC2 Type 1 and Type 2 technology assessment for its systems and processes. All himagine employees work directly out of the customer’s technology systems. We do not require any system integration.
